A multi-layered project involving extensive fieldwork in the Sonoran desert with an entomologist focused on a specific butterfly species, a collaborative exchange of ideas, photo and video documentation, and a final installation including a video triptych exhibited with other elements in a designed tent inspired by the organism. The project focuses on the poetics of inter-species exchange and relays subtleties in the final work that develop metaphors for human-animal, artist-scientist, outdoors-studio collaborations as explained by phenomena of light experienced in this bio-region.
